Cedar Woods breaks ground on Hudson Hub

Oct 23, 2024

AUSTRALIA — ASX-listed developer Cedar Woods Properties has officially commenced construction on Hudson Hub, its sixth stand-alone office building in Williams Landing, Melbourne’s western suburb.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held on October 10, 2024, marks a significant milestone for the project, which is set to redefine the suburban office landscape.

Hudson Hub, designed by Hames Sharley, will feature 74 strata offices and five retail suites.

The building incorporates modern amenities tailored to meet the evolving needs of businesses and their employees, including:

The project also emphasises sustainability through high-performance facades, solar panels, and energy-efficient lighting.

Cedar Woods has appointed Hacer Group as the builder for Hudson Hub, continuing their long-standing relationship.

James Bovell, Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager, expressed confidence in Hacer Group’s ability to deliver the project to the highest standard, citing their previous successful collaborations.

Hudson Hub has already made a substantial impact on the local real estate market, with approximately 65 per cent of the suites sold.

The project’s recent retail campaign achieved over $11,000 per square metre for one of its ground-floor retail suites, comparable to rates in Melbourne’s inner-city suburbs.

James Bovell commented on the project’s success: “Hudson Hub represents our commitment to creating high-quality office spaces outside the CBD. The strong interest we’ve seen demonstrates that businesses value well-designed suburban locations.”

Williams Landing, designated as a major activity and employment centre, offers excellent transport links and access to local amenities.

These factors, combined with the area’s growing business clientele, make it an increasingly attractive destination for companies looking to establish a presence outside the CBD.

Hudson Hub office suites are currently available for purchase, with project completion scheduled for Q1 2026.

The strong pre-sales and market interest indicate a growing trend towards decentralised work locations and a preference for high-quality office spaces in suburban areas.

As Melbourne’s western suburbs continue to develop, Hudson Hub stands as a testament to the changing landscape of commercial real estate and the increasing appeal of suburban office spaces.
